hello, My name Muhammad Hawaris Munawar. Welcome to my blog. I am 13 years old. My interest is in biology

Kitten are young cats. There are 37 species and 85 breeds of cats.

SPECIES

BIG CATS

CHEETAH

The cheetah is the world's fastest land mammal. With acceleration that would
leave most automobiles in the dust, a cheetah can go from 0 to 60 miles (96
kilometer s) an hour in only three seconds. This big cat is a daylight hunter that
benefits from stealthy movement and a distinctive spotted coat that allows it to
blend easily int o high, dry grasses. If successful, the cheetah will often drag its
kill to a shady hidi ng place to protect it from opportunistic animals that
sometimes steal a kill before the cheetah can eat. Cheetahs need only drink
once every three to four days.

LION

Lion are the second-largest living cat after the tiger. They are called the king of
the forest They are the only truly social cats that  compete for possession in
fierce and often fatal battles. Lions are predatory carnivores it's the  females
who perform hunting mostly at night. They breed year-round. Lion live for 10-14
years  in the   wild, while in captivity they can live longer than 20 years. A lion's
roar can be heard to 3 miles (4.8 kilometers)

JAGUAR

Jaguars are the largest of South America's big cats. These beautiful and powerful beasts

were prominent in ancient Native American cultures. The name jaguar is derived from the

Native American word yaguar, which means "he who kills with one leap." Unlike many other

cats, jaguars do not avoid water; in fact, they are quite good swimmers. Rivers provide prey

in the form of fish, turtles, or alligator like animals. Jaguars also eat larger animals such as

deer, peccaries, capybaras, and tapirs. They sometimes climb trees to prepare an ambush,

killing their prey with one powerful bite.

TIGER

The largest of all the Asian big cats. They typically hunt alone and stalk prey. A tiger can

consume up to 88 pounds of meat at one time. On average, tigers give birth to 2-3 cubs

every 2-2.5 years. Tiger males are heavier than tiger females.

They visit over a period of days or weeks and mark their territory with urine and feces.

They live up to 26 years. They weight to 220-600 pounds. They are endangered.

LEOPARD

The leopard or panther is a large, graceful cat with a long, lithe build. Its coat is pale brown

to yellowish-brown with dark brown spots in rosettes.A solid-colored leopard or “black

panther” is often of a more aggressive nature than those with a spotted coat. This is

because normal spotted mothers tend to dislike solid-color cubs, often driving them away

prematurely. They live in sub-Saharan Africa, northeast Africa, Central Asia, India, and

China. However, many of their populations are endangered, especially outside of

Africa. The leopard is so strong and comfortable in trees that it often hauls its kills into the

branches. By dragging the bodies of large animals aloft it hopes to keep them safe from

scavengers such as hyenas. Leopards can also hunt from trees, where their spotted coats

allow them to blend with the leaves until they spring with a deadly pounce.Leopards are

strong swimmers and very much at home in the water, where they sometimes eat fish or

crabs.Female leopards can give birth at any time of the year. Most leopards are light

colored with distinctive dark spots that are called rosettes, because they resemble the

shape of a rose.

SNOW LEOPARD

These rare, beautiful gray leopards live in the mountains of Central Asia. They are insulated

by thick hair, and their wide, fur-covered feet act as natural snowshoes. Snow leopards

have powerful legs and are tremendous leapers, able to jump as far as 50 feet (15 meters).

They use their long tails for balance and as blankets to cover sensitive body parts against

the severe mountain chill. Snow leopards prey upon the blue sheep (bharal) of Tibet and

the Himalaya, as well as the mountain ibex found over most of the rest of their range.

Though these powerful predators can kill animals three times their weight, they also eat

smaller fare, such as marmots, hares, and game birds. These endangered cats appear to

be in dramatic decline because of such killings, and due to poaching driven by illegal trades

in pelts and in body parts used for traditional Chinese medicine. Vanishing habitat and the

decline of the cats' large mammal prey are also contributing factors.

SMALL CATS

AFRICAN GOLDEN CAT

The African golden cat is a medium sized central African species. They weigh up

to 28 pounds with a body about 3 feet long, a shoulder height of about 19

inches, and a tail about 16 inches long.  There is a wide variety of colors.  They

range from reddish-brown to gray to black melanistic individuals.  There was a

report of a captive cat changing from red to gray over a 4-month period

at the London Zoo in 1907.  Spotting also varies from very spotted to spots

only on the belly. This follows a generality that the spotting is lesser as you go

from west to east.  The chin, chest, and belly are white with prominent black

spots always occurring on the belly.  The tail also always has a dark dorsal

stripe and ends in a black or brown tip.  While Asian golden cats have a

similar appearance, they are not closely related and the similarity is credited to

both species evolving in a forest environment. African golden cats are found

across the African Equatorial belt.  The prefer the rain forest regions, but also

range into secondary forest regions and have been known to adapt well to

logged areas with dense undergrowth. African golden cats have also been

known to scavenge eagle kills and to prey on injured primates that have fallen

from the canopy.  Birds also are preyed upon, but the small rodents make up

the bulk of the diet. It is known to be mainly nocturnal, resting in trees during

the day while doing some hunting during the diurnal period. They live up to 10

years.
